Who We Are
Karamoja Peace and Development Agency (KAPDA), founded on 2 July 2005, is a registered non-profit NGO in Uganda working to tackle insecurity and underdevelopment in Karamoja by promoting peace, improving livelihoods, and fostering inclusive, sustainable growth in remote, undeserved East African communities.
KAPDA operates in Kaabong, Karenga, and Kotido districts, collaborating with communities, local authorities, and partners to deliver transformative solutions with a focus on women, youth, children, and persons with disabilities.
Our vision is “A peaceful and self-reliant community of Karamoja.”
Our mission is to promote peace and development through inclusive and sustainable livelihood programs that empower individuals and enhance self-reliance.

Over the years, we have:

Constructed 219 water sources and 250 latrines, transforming community health and sanitation while ensuring access to safe, clean water.

Empowered 940+ adolescent girls and boys with essential life and vocational skills, equipping them to build brighter futures and break the cycle of poverty.
