Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment
We equip households with the skills, resources, and market access they need to escape poverty. From vocational skills training and start-up kits to Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA), we enable communities to launch small businesses, improve agricultural productivity, and build resilience to economic shocks. Special attention is given to empowering youth and persons with disabilities.
The Bonga Programme – Unlocking the Potential of Karamoja’s Youth
In the remote and resource-scarce communities of Karamoja, too many young people, especially girls, grow up facing poverty, limited education, and few opportunities for a brighter future. The Bonga Programme, implemented by the Karamoja Peace and Development Agency (KAPDA) with the support of partners such as the Stromme Foundation, is transforming that reality.
Bonga means “to speak out” and that is exactly what we inspire our young participants to do: find their voice, claim their rights, and shape their future.
