Education and Skills Development
We believe education is the foundation of transformation. Our programs support school-based clubs, vocational training, literacy initiatives, and bursaries for vulnerable children. The Bonga Programme empowers out-of-school youth with life skills and market-ready trades, while in-school initiatives improve leadership, performance, and attendance, especially among girls.
Girls Improving Resilience through Livelihoods and Health (GIRL-H) – Empowering Karamoja’s Next Generation of Women Leaders
In Karamoja, adolescent girls and young women often face a life shaped by poverty, early marriage, and limited education. Many lack the skills, resources, and confidence to pursue their ambitions. The Girls Improving Resilience through Livelihoods and Health (GIRL-H) programme, implemented by the Karamoja Peace and Development Agency (KAPDA) with support from partners, is changing this reality by equipping girls with the tools to thrive economically, socially, and in health.
The Bonga Programme – Unlocking the Potential of Karamoja’s Youth
In the remote and resource-scarce communities of Karamoja, too many young people, especially girls, grow up facing poverty, limited education, and few opportunities for a brighter future. The Bonga Programme, implemented by the Karamoja Peace and Development Agency (KAPDA) with the support of partners such as the Stromme Foundation, is transforming that reality.
Bonga means “to speak out” and that is exactly what we inspire our young participants to do: find their voice, claim their rights, and shape their future.
North Karamoja Poverty Alleviation Project (NK-PAP) – Breaking the Cycle of Poverty, Restoring Hope
In North Karamoja, poverty is more than a lack of income—it is a lack of opportunity, resources, and hope. Many households, especially those headed by women, persons with disabilities, and youth, struggle to meet basic needs. The North Karamoja Poverty Alleviation Project (NK-PAP), implemented by the Karamoja Peace and Development Agency (KAPDA) with support from development partners, is providing the tools and opportunities communities need to build a better future.
